About

The Coalition of Ordinary Resisters is a response to an overwhelming request from… well, ordinary people who resist.

Today, most people view “anti-oppression” as listening and learning, reading books, attending rallies and protests, boycott, educating others, and “speaking out” e.g. social media posts. This is all great and effective, but often the focus is on big atrocities and big changes.

We, the Coalition of Ordinary Resisters (CoOR), believe that big changes come from the accumulation of tiny changes. We adamantly disagree with the premise that someone who can’t organize enough to manage the neighbourhood racist can dismantle the centuries-old white supremacist institution.

CoOR is a group of people continually acting on change in everyday moments. Educational seminars, rallies, and direct action are the extension of the everyday actions, not the other way around.
